Description
This stylish Yuzamashi is hand crafted by Jinsui, a historic pottery maker based in Tokoname, one of 6 ancient and famous kilns in Japan.
A Yuzamashi is a hot water pitcher used for decreasing temperature of water before adding to green tea. Green teas are best brewed at temperatures around 70-80°C, so a Yuzamashi is often used to cool water from a kettle before adding to a teapot
Jinsui is revolutionising the traditional pottery industry in Japan. Its 4th generation owner and all women staff have an average age in their 40’s. Their modern design and methods are breathing new life into a rigid industry, whilst still retaining traditional skills and quality.
TOKI, which means time in Japanese, is based around the concept of taking time out each day to recenter and forget the chaos of society whilst enjoying tea.
